Please share a memory of Norbert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Norbert Alan Kaufman, 75, of Mission Viejo, CA passed away on December 5th following a very brief, yet courageous battle with cancer. Norbert was born on September 21st, 1946 to Adele and Arthur Kaufman of Queens, NY. After graduating from Forest Hills High School in 1964, Norbert attended the University of Miami and later joined the United States Air Force. He enjoyed a successful career as a dearly loved Fabric Sales Rep in Southern CA for many years. Norbert has two children, whom he loved with his whole heart - Jared and Samara.
Norbert’s passions were his family, his friends, helping others and Judaism. He always showed up for everyone in their time of need, he was known to all as a mensch. Through his incredible gift of caring and acts of social good, he developed countless authentic friendships and served his community in a way few are able to do. Loving and kind, he touched the lives of many from his involvement at Temple Eilat in Mission Viejo, CA, Temple Beth El in Aliso Viejo, CA and later his near decade of dedicated volunteer service to Heritage Pointe in Mission Viejo, CA. He received many awards, served on boards and committees, and was a frequent participant in Shabbat services. During his retirement, he developed a love for walking and walked an average of 6 miles every day.
Norbert is survived by his loving children, Jared Kaufman of Mission Viejo, CA; loving daughter Samara Kaufman, son-in-law Brian Waldman and two grandchildren, Lucie and Asher Waldman of Atlanta, GA; brother Mark Kaufman of Houston, TX; brother Joel Kaufman and Karen Reichek of Houston, TX. Funeral service and graveside will be held at Pacific View in Corona Del Mar, California. All are welcome as Norbert wished.
