Marcia was a loving and generous soul. She and Al opened their home to me as a 'home away from home' while I was living in California attending graduate school. She was in some ways a substitute mother figure to me and in other ways like the sister I never had. When I was at the house we'd often sit for hours and hours talking together in the living room, or cooking together in the kitchen. We shared a love of family, relationships and cooking. It's been many years since I have lived in California and thus our contact has been much less frequent. This August she and Al graced us with their presence at our daughter's wedding in Boston and I will hold that picture of them, together, joyfully celebrating with us, as my last memory of her. As we all are, I am deeply saddened by this sudden and unfortunate passing. I send my love to all of the extended Kovalsky family and hope that the love and community you are surrounded by will help ease you through this very difficult time.
