We first met Marcia and Al at the "Lair of the Bear" Marcia was a bundle of happiness and energy. Our first connection was the same name, then the friendship grew and continued. She always remained strong. Marcia will be missed.

When we as non Jews came to Palos Verdes, we became a small adjunct part of the Jewish community, thanks in part to the Kovalskis and their friendship over the last almost 50 years. We were not able to attend the moving service today but were to be part of it via the link from Temple Beth El. We hope to attend the Shiva this evening. We will miss Marcia's wonderful sense of humor and friendship. Our condolences to Al and the rest of the family.

Marcia was a wonderful woman in all respects. Her enthusiasm for learning, love of music, art, her family and our community was particularly notable. I’ve known Marcia
and Al and their family since our youngest sons were friends and soccer teammates. In addition to her enthusiasm for traveling, she availed herself of numerous educational programs strictly for her love of learning. She was also an excellent teacher. She generously taught Mah Jongg to countless women in the Jewish community. Her lovely home and garden reflect her aesthetic sense and artistic ability. She was kind and generous with her time, talents and her hospitality. My family and I will miss her very much.

I was SOOO shocked to learn of Marcia's death this morning. My husband's and my heartfelt condolences to your whole family.
Apart from being a fellow TBE member and very occasional Mah Jongg player, we sat next to each other in the TED talks class at Omnilore up until a couple of weeks ago. She was full of life and lots of fun.....I am so sorry for your loss.

Marcia was a loving and generous soul. She and Al opened their home to me as a 'home away from home' while I was living in California attending graduate school. She was in some ways a substitute mother figure to me and in other ways like the sister I never had. When I was at the house we'd often sit for hours and hours talking together in the living room, or cooking together in the kitchen. We shared a love of family, relationships and cooking. It's been many years since I have lived in California and thus our contact has been much less frequent. This August she and Al graced us with their presence at our daughter's wedding in Boston and I will hold that picture of them, together, joyfully celebrating with us, as my last memory of her. As we all are, I am deeply saddened by this sudden and unfortunate passing. I send my love to all of the extended Kovalsky family and hope that the love and community you are surrounded by will help ease you through this very difficult time. I wish I could be there with you to celebrate her life. My love to all of you, Cindy
