Obituary of Odette Moreno

Odette Tawil Moreno June 27, 1940 - January 20, 2024 Odette Tawil Moreno, a long time resident of New York and Los Angeles, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2024. She was 83 years old. Odette is survived by her husband, Elie Moreno, two sons, Eric and Kevin, daughter in-law Beth, son in-law Andrew, three grandsons, Sam, Leo and Eddie, six dear siblings and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Marie Tawil, her sister, Lillian Azizo, and niece, the Honorable Lena Azizo Cymbrowitz of the New York State Assembly. Odette was born in Cairo, Egypt and moved to the United States with her family in the early 1960s during a period of war and upheaval facing the Jewish community in Egypt. She was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her joys included cooking for her family, fine cuisine, music, dancing, fashion, philosophy, literature and the beaches of Westhampton Beach. Her smile, laughter, sense of humor, love of her children and family and grace were cherished and will be missed by those who loved her. Odette is laid to rest at Mount Sinai Memorial Park in Simi Valley, California.
