I was very fortunate to have known this special lady for almost 24 years. My most fondest memories are helping her cook special seder meals during the high holidays. She would often breakout in song as we were cooking normally a catchy classic tune from 40's, 50's or 60's. Not being of the Jewish faith she would explain why we ate certain foods for the various Jewish holidays. I had to pay very close attention as she was such a soft-soken soul.
I also especially loved her rewrite of songs to a familiar tune but with her own lyrics. Her sultry voice will be missed! Rest in Peace sweet Diane. I know Hal is waiting for you with open arms and he's going to take you to new restaurants he has discovered while awaiting your arrival. I'll bet you'll see the burger grease dripping from his chin with that impish smile of his telling you they also have the best apple pie.
