Jay was the most lovable, intelligent, interesting person. He loved music, he loved life, and lived it to the fullest. He was a unique person and will be missed by so many people . you were loved by so many people. I would be remiss if I did not mention how much Jay loved music and dancing, we had such a good time going to clubs in Chicago and dancing. Love you, Jay, your cousin, Estelle

Jay was a very special cousin but also a very caring friend. Sharing humor and knowledge was his specialty. He connected often and rarely missed the significant holidays without checking in. I miss his visits and his warm personality. With much love to the family and friends,

Our condolences to Jay,
He was such a selfless man and always there for people within the time we got to know him. We enjoyed the memories that we had with him such as holidays and family gatherings. He always made an effort to make a connection with Christian and I. With Christian he made the connection with him through his desire of politics and new shows christian would watch. Thanks for being apart of our lives we enjoyed the time we got to know you. RIP Jay!

I met Jay roughly 20 years ago, he and I used to love to go play pool at LA and OC pool halls and listen to blues music at Babes and Ricky's in Los Angeles. More recently, we started watching classic Movies a couple of times a month and spending hours on end critiquing and or arguing about our opinions of such films. Jay was always opinionated but never disrespectful in voicing his opinion. He was a wealth of knowledge on a variety of subjects and was always willing to share what he knew in a polite and soft-spoken manner. I will truly miss him and his friendship.

When I was in the hospital for almost 2 months many years back, Jay visited me often and brought cards and Domino's to keep me occupied. It was truly a mitzvah and I will never forget it. I remember the Veterans day all day free meal excursions Jay arranged which many of us enjoyed in years past. I also remember going to some of the jazz performances. And I can't count how many times Jay volunteered to hold up a corner of the canopy at TBI when the Rabbi gave birthday blessings on Friday nights We will miss you Jay...may you rest in peace and your memory be a blessing.
Michael Reisner.

Needless to say, Jay’s passing certainly was a shock, to his friends, family and the community. We could not find a more devoted friend, uncle, veteran and loving person. I had the pleasure of knowing of him for a couple decades, however in the last five years, I got to know Jay on a close friendship level, because he was engaged to a wonderful woman. We spent every holiday together for the past five years, including breakfast, lunch and dinner outings. Jay loved his Judaism religion… and he practiced it with every holiday with fervor and passion. One of the holidays is called Purim. Jay was always in the spirit of the holiday by wearing costumes. Jay also loved jazz and blues music, and we often joined him listening and dancing to his favorite bands in the area . We had a lot of fun for many years and I have to thank his fiancé Peggy Sanders for enriching him with much love in the end of his life. Thank you Peggy RIP Jay. Your love for music, your dedication to Judaism, your passion for your conservative beliefs, and your love for your last love, will be missed.
