It was back in his Arthur Andersen days when I first met Jerry. We worked together and partied together along with a large group of associates. Jerry was a real professional, a trait which seems to have carried through his career. I remember his quick smile and his genuine love of people. My condolences to the Smolar family. Jim Burra

Jerry is responsible for my house having over 200 Cabs at various stages of aging. During our trip to conclude a sale of Napa and Mendocino Counties SAFECO's operations there, Jerry made us stop at V. Satui's where I bought my first Cab for $10. When I opened the wine 10 years later it was one of the 3 or 4 best Cabs that I have ever had.

Jerry was the ultimate professional, he was always ready to step up and solve a problem, never assigning blame but looking for a solution. It was a pleasure to work with him. My prayers are with his family.

So sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. I went to high school and UCLA with him I always had memories of his smile and sense of humor. It has been almost 50 years but I remember him fondly. I always wondered where he lived and what he was doing with his life.We played basketball together at Poinsettia park and Fairfax high school. It makes me sad to hear this even though so many years have passed. Hope there is a nice place in Heaven reserved for him!!!
