Every day I miss you more and more my friend.....since that drastic call I received to let me know you were gone.
I picked up the phone to call you at work the other day, like so many times before, and I realized that you won't be there to answer the call, nor to return any of my calls.....how I'm going to miss you forever my friend. Rest in peace until we meet again my forever friend.

I started working at CIM in October, 2007. That Halloween, I was at the office in the evening and stopped by Ellen's office to say good night. I didn't know her very well at the time but we ended up talking for hours - she told me about her history with CIM, gave me a rundown of the company, talked to me about her wonderful family and the movies she liked. We became friends that night and stayed friends until she passed away. She was a true treasure - I will miss our lunches and our conversations. I am fortunate to have been in the Legal Department with her for so many years.

I was so saddened and shocked to hear of Ellen's passing having just recently interacted with her on a project as I have been doing with some regularity for over 20 years. I have known Ellen since her early days with CIM and have lots and lots of memories both professional and personal. I will miss hearing from her. My sincerest condolences to her friends and family.

So sorry about the loss of Ellen. I had the privilege to work with her for three years. She was one of the company treasures, and her passing leaves a huge void. As I told her on many occasions, she was "the best".

As an independent real estate broker, I have known Ellen as Shaul’s employee for many years. From before Shaul was CIM and Ellen worked for him at his office in Santa Monica. For over 20 years I’ve known Ellen. We have closed many escrows together. But what did I really know about her? How could I have known Ellen for so long and really not know her.
I may not know where she vacationed or her favorite movie or what she did in her spare time but here is what I know about Ellen.
I know she worked hard and I appreciate people who work hard.
I know she was always trying to do her best. Even when things got tense, I knew that she was trying to do her best. And there’s a comfort in working with someone who you know is always trying to do their best. A comfort in knowing the job will get done.
And the job always got done. She was a professional and professionals get the job done.
Ellen never gave up. Never skipped a beat. She kept firing from all cylinders at all hours of the day and night. She was strong and people relied on her strength. She was intelligent and people relied on her intelligence and on her word. And her word was good. She was honest and trustworthy.
Thank you Ellen, for the lessons you taught me, the experiences we shared, the wisdom you imparted, the escrows we closed and yes, there was laughter. Ellen could spring her sense of humor on you when you least expected it. She was a great combination of intensity and wit.
And once in awhile, she even got to say I told you so. I was always her student and she was mine. We were always learning from each other.
I feel a great loss, like she's the first of our little group to go, of Ellen and Shaul and Avi and the world feels smaller because of her passing. I always pictured Ellen as someone they would have to force into retirement, that she would never retire, never quit, never give up, never stop trying. She would be reading title reports and contracts, closing statements and escrow instructions, long into the night.
Now that night has fallen. There is quiet at the end of the line.
Rest in Peace, Ellen Rose.

Dear Ellen Rose Family:
I worked for many many years with Ellen as outside construction counsel to CIM. It was always a pleasure and a privilege to work with her. But beyond that, she was always a friend. No matter how busy Ellen was, she seemed to "stop the world" and ask me how I was doing and how my family was faring.
I have been living in Africa since 2014 working as the Area Counsel for my Church. It has been a fantastic experience. However, I lost touch with Ellen since I left for Africa and was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of her passing.
I too was born in 1955. Therefore it is unsettling to have a dear friend of my own age pass from this life so early. However, I take comfort in knowing that I will see my dear friend Ellen again someday in the hereafter.
Please except my sincerest condolences. I hope and pray that you receive all God's tender mercies and comfort at this tender time.
With love, Bryan C. Jackson
