Baruch dayan emet...Jill was my first professional friend in the funeral industry when I met her on my first JFDA Executive Conference. We shared a shuttle to the hotel starting as strangers and ending the ride as friends. I was only weeks into my role at my funeral home but Jill treated me as an equal. She introduced me to everyone, made sure I was making the right connections, and even shared a little history about everyone for me. And, for many, many, many years after that conference in 1995, I would call on Jill as my guidepost, my mentor, and my professional friend. 26-years later, I am confident to say much of my identity as a funeral director was created from what I learned from Jill.
