Most people who had met Ed would say he was a "no nonsense", "all business" type of man. Yes, Ed was a great business man but, he was so much more than that.
We kept in touch throughout the years and each time we spoke, it was as if no time had past at all. Infact, he had a way of making me feel as if I was a kid again.
The last time I spoke with Ed he mentioned how proud he was with Paula and Eric. He spoke of all his grandchildren and how he was happy that his kids found good and loving spouses. He spoke of his love for Nancy and how he was thankful for her loving him even with his ways. He said he truly was enjoying life.
Before we hung up he said he wanted me to know that he was proud of the woman I had become. He was pleased that Big George had taken care of me and the kids the way he said he would and that he was very happy for me and my family.
I had planned on calling Ed when my current escrow closes at the end of this month to catch him up on the Reither household. I shouldn't waited and should have just called.
Good bye for now my "Office Dad." You will be missed I love you.
