We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Nettie Freeman. Mother of Bonnie Freeman & Roberta Freeman Grandmother of 2 Great-grandmother of 4 Nettie was loved by all who knew her. She was a kind, caring, gracious and energetic woman who genuinely and actively took an interest in her family and friends. She and her husband, Bernie Freeman, moved to Los Angeles in 1947 to start and raise their family. They were one of a small group of couples who founded the Judy Rose Chapter of City of Hope, deeply committed to their philanthropic support. Nettie and Bernie eventually ran a business together, Art Bazaar, until Bernie's death in 1980. Nettie was active as a paraprofessional counselor at the Valley Beth Shalom Counseling Center. She celebrated her Bat Mitzvah at VBS at age 80. This was deeply moving and gratifying for her, fulfilling a lifelong desire. She relished her travels to Hawaii, Mexico, China, parts of Europe, and Israel. Nettie will be remembered for her generous and loving spirit and her passion for entertaining with a flair. May she rest in peace and forever live in the hearts of those fortunate to have known her. The funeral service was private.
