Len Doerfler was a remarkable man! As a part of the Chicago gang, my parents, David and Helen Barrad, moved to Long Beach around the same time as Len and Edie Doerfler did. Len and Edie had two girls, Sandi and Carol and my parents had three boys, Mark, Jeff and Andy. We were the best of friends. I knew Lenny all my life, and he truly was my second Dad. Our families were great pranksters. We played some hilarious pranks on each other over the years. We traveled together and had wonderful trips with the whole families. At times it truly felt like we were all one happy family. Lenny loved to laugh and make others laugh too; he always had a smile to share. I loved Len, and always will! My sincerest condolences to all of Len’s family. Len was a gem of a Man, and was lucky to have married a gem of a woman Adele later in life. I am blessed to have had him with me for my whole life.
