Marvin Samuel Walts, 93
Marvin Walts was born the smallest baby to miraculously survive in St. Louis, but led the largest life as a fine and gentle human being. He devoted his entire life as an educator, principal and executive director of religious education and to children, and he was beloved by all of them. Many of their careers were formed by his loving guidance and were influenced by his caring soul. Having served as president to many Jewish organizations, he was influential in his religious life as a strong and innovative leader.
Having lost his first love, Harriet, he then married Sharon Simon and they merged their families
into one large beautiful home. He loved to travel the world, and now having an extended family all over the country gave him the opportunity to visit his six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren throughout his retirement.
He never stopped contributing to the community, serving on various boards, volunteering as a leader in the Jewish federation and delivering Meals on Wheels. His love for his religion filled his heart and was the foundation for a full and rich life, bellowing out loudly in song, proud and joyous.
Marvin’s fun-loving personality and charm was ever present and touched all who had the opportunity to
know him. Rabbi Ben Kamin said that the “miracle baby” left the world as he entered it...with gentleness, strength, kindness and peace.” He is survived by his wife Sharon, six children and their extended families, and will be greatly missed.
Marvin's family appreciates your caring and support.
