Condolences to Janice’s sons Jon and Jeff and to Sandy and Gail and her grandsons.
So many things come to mind when I think of Janice, but number one is her courage.
She endured two major tragedies with the loss her husband Bill and daughter Jessica. I never saw her indulge in self-pity, she just soldiered on. My husband Irwin and I first knew the Peddies when Irwin was Bill’s accountant. The four of us had theater tickets together, so met many times.Janice had a positive personality, and was always ready for a new adventure. We took several trips to New York City, New Orleans and Steamboat Springs.. We also toured Egypt together. At Newport, she and I enjoyed many afternoons either playing golf or tennis. She had many talents, in business and in her personal life. I was fortunate to have had Janice in my life.

I will miss the long walks Janice and I had in Steamboat where we were able to share our lives.. She welcomed me to the family when I married her brother, Harvey,
We had many happy visits together in Steamboat, California and New Jersey and traveled to to Alaska, China , Australia & New Zealand together. So many wonderful memories.
She was a person to admire ...her independence , fortitude and great love of family. My heart goes out to Jeff , Gail , Adam & Noah. Also Jon , Sandy , Charlie & Will.
I share in you loss. With Deep Sympathy and Love,
Joan

I met Janice in the late 70’s and I knew Janice as Jon’s mom. She was an intelligent strong independent businesswoman who fiercely loved her family and especially loved her boys Jon and Jeff. Janice was mother figure to many of our friends and was always handing out great life advice. I remember one time - I was a twenty something first living in Newport and working in Huntington. I happened to share with her that I did not have any medical coverage. She said that just would not do – and given our crazy life style was pretty stupid - and she immediately gave me information about a health care plan I could afford. Janice would put up with our youthful antics with a roll of her eyes and more than once joined our circle of friends in rounds of festive tequila shots. Pretty darn strong. Janice told me more than once – actually… pretty darn often - how very happy she was with the wonderful women – Sandy and Chris - that Jon and I married. She just called us “lucky guys”. She was right. Rest in peace, you will always be loved. Brad and Chris Larkins

Janice was family to me. My mom and Janice knew each other from school days in NJ. I always enjoyed my time with Janice through the years and she was a wonderful friend to my mom which I am forever grateful. Love you Janice.

There are many special memories of Janice from the years that she and Bill were members of Temple Beth Tikvah in Fullerton and raised Jessica, Jon and Jeff. And then there was the terrible losses of both Bill and Jessica, both of them dying way before their time.
Once Janice moved to Newport Beach I didn't see her that often but we did keep in touch and after Janice's stroke and recovery I came to visit a number of times and took her out for lunch.
While still a member of TBT Janice donated a beautiful Hanukiah for the synagogue by the artist Helen Burke who was the artist in residence at Camp Swig in Northern California in memory of Bill and more recently a member of our synagogue, LouAnn Taback, reached out to Janice about refurbishing the beautiful Hannukiah which Janice agreed to do. And on Hannukah before Covid Janice along with her family came to Temple Beth Tikvah where we rededicated it. What an amazing moment for me and I think for Janice and her family!
I told Jeff that once Covid was over I planned to visit Janice but that wasn't in the plan . Baruch Dayan Haemet! May Janice's memory continue to be for blessings.

Janice was such an amazing person who inspired me just by being around her. She had such strong ethics in all aspects
of her life. I enjoyed all of time we spent together over the 35 plus years I knew her. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of her
family and friends. She will truly be missed but will live on in our hearts and memories.
Rest in peace dear Janice.

When we think about Janice, we think about brisket! Not only the delicious brisket shared around your dining table on holidays but also the brisket that went awry—down the steps if I recall correctly! Luckily Janice had made more than enough to feed everyone twice over anyway. We are so saddened by her loss. She was a source of strength and inspiration. And she was so well loved and cared for by you all. We send you love and comfort at this time. May her memory be a blessing.

What an incredible lady! So enjoyed chatting with Janice. She was bright, authentic, transparent and caring. This picture is from Thanksgiving at her house back in the late 90s. She welcomed us to the table, as new residents to CA. Enjoyed times spent with her. Our deepest sympathy to Jon, Sandy, Will, Charlie, Jeff, Gail, Adam and Noah. All our love -- Sandy, Chris, Brielle and Jamie

I was so saddened to learn of Janice’s passing. Sending my sincere condolences to Jon & Jeff (& their families). For me, Janice was kind, easy going, tolerant, accessible & warm. I am most grateful for her warm welcome to Joni when she (Joni) joined the family. I know her friendship through the years has been significant for my mom & I am so appreciative. Sending my love to all.

My Aunt Janice was always my amazing, strong, resilient aunt. Her smile and laugh and sharp mind always made each visit together memorable, sharing everything from simchas to sad times and more good times. I am grateful to have had (and still have) very strong women in my life - and this picture are three of the strongest. We find strength in our memories. All my love.
