Obituary of Judy Namak

NAMAK, Sharon Judith Segal, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, passed away February 1, 2021. She was born April 8, 1942, to Samuel and Freida Segal.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Avrim Namak.
She is survived by her daughter, Dana Sanderson Harmatz and her husband, Harvey; and her sons, Howard Sanderson and his wife, Laurie and Michael Sanderson and his wife Maria; her brother Hersh Segal; her brother-in-law Henry Katz; her brother-in-law, Stanley Sanderson and sister-in-law Bella Sanderson, and their children Rani, Blair and his wife Laura; and her devoted friend Lee Powell.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Sam Sanderson, Abby Harmatz, Leah Harmatz, Erica Harmatz Hughes, David Sanderson, Erik Sanderson, Austin Lackey Bazemore, Sierra Lackey and Madison Wangensteen; and 1 great grandchild Marshall Hughes.
Judy was very proud of her Jewish heritage and faith. Over the years, she volunteered countless hours to various Jewish organizations including the Calgary JCC and Canadian Hadassah-WIZO. She was involved in the Jewish Community Center Association. She held professional positions at the Beth Ahabah Temple in Richmond, VA and Wilshire Boulevard Temple in Los Angeles, CA and the JCC in Long Beach, CA and Phoenix, AZ.
Judy had a very big personality wrapped in a small package. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
