I supported Jonny as a sales engineer at my former employer and he was always ambitious and a go getter. When I heard of Jonnie's passing i was in shock but I want to let all the family members and loved ones know that i am keeping Jonny in my daily prayers. As a Christian i believe he is with Jesus now and in a better place. Sincerely, David Porter

Jonny loved an adventure- whether it was a ride to nowhere, gem mining, a local carnival, sporting events or a snowboarding trip...he was always excited to be there and always made you laugh. We will all miss his laugh! Jonny loved kids and they loved laughing with him. My kids have so many fun memories of times spent with him. ❤️

I met Jonny a couple of years ago, but it feels like it's been much longer than that. We have had many long talks inside and outside of work. Whenever I was in town we would meet up for lunch or dinner and whenever he was in town we would get lunch. We got along like bros and I really consider him a friend. I am sad and will miss him a lot. My heart goes out to Jonny's family, I will always remember him.
(This past year we have been on the phone a lot due to working remote. I was just looking at a picture with him and his puppy. I remember a recent call we were on a couple weeks ago and I could hear his dog hanging out next to him chewing on a squeeky toy and we laughed about it.)
God Bless.

The pictures show, from left to right, Jonny as a young boy who liked coat and tie; at the wing ceremony when Elliot got his pilot wings; at a family simcha on the East Coast with his Tante Linda Bug (TLB); with Chappy and Irit after a sporting accident about to have a sushi dinner; with cousin Michael Plaut in NYC; and Uncle Jonny with Baby Bobby.

Jonny was and always will be a bright light in my life. He was one of the best people I have ever known. He was my vegas “Lucky” (that’s what we called each other) charm and when he lived out there he taught my mom how to play beer pong. My mom and I went out for a vacation, we met up with Jonny one night and he and I wanted to play and he didn’t want her to feel left out or miss out on the fun so he took her on his team and taught her (“come on mama you’ll be on my team and I’ll teach you!”) She and I talk about that often. They learned that night that they shared a birthday and form then on Jonny would always remember to reach out to me on HIS birthday to tell my mama happy birthday! He cared about other people so much and he will forever be so loved and remembered. Sending so much love to his family ❤️
I will miss you and love you always Lucky!! And I know you will always be watching over us

We only got to know Jonny over the last few years as we embraced a growing family of cousins. He was always laughing, so smart and full of joy (and latkes). He was a joy to be around and it was so clear how much he was loved by all. His loss is devastating and he will be missed by many.
Irit Chapnick Posted Jan 4, 2021 at 6:04 AM
Thank you Caren and Darryl, your latke comment makes me smile. When he was young, we had a book called, "Rodney the Latke Eater." The book made an impression on Jonathan.

Dear Cheri and Marty, I have in my mind's eye the trip we took to Magic Mountain with our kids. Screaming on the Rollercoaster -- some whacky idea about letting out the pain and frustration with a primal scream. Ha! Like your mother-in-law in Israel said, "Hey chayim, zeh lo picnic." Sounds much better with an Israeli accent. Much love, i

I’m a cousin on the opposite coast to Jonathan and thus I only had one opportunity to meet him at a family Bnai Mitzvah about 9 years ago. I don’t have a great memory in general. But I’ll never forget Jonathan at that event.
So outgoing with family he barely knew. My 4 year old granddaughter riding on his shoulders and he entertaining all the kids. Now I’m learning of his being a Big Brother for many years- how great that must have been for the lucky child. His isolation due to Covid must have been so painful for him- a person who needed to share joy and love with others. Alan and I send our profound sympathy to all the family on this devastating loss.
