Roberta (Bobbie) Schwartz

Roberta (Bobbie) Schwartz, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, in Studio City, California, at the age of 89.

A lifelong Southern Californian, she dedicated her professional life to helping others as a licensed clinical social worker. She approached both her work and her personal relationships with compassion, wisdom, empathy, and genuine care, leaving a lasting impact on the many lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life - her devoted husband of 63 years, Donald W. Schwartz.

Bobbie is lovingly remembered by her son, Ron Schwartz and his wife, Aida; her daughter, Laurie Poole and her husband, Bruce; her grandsons, Andrew Poole and his wife, Emily Krizmanich, and Adam Poole; her nephew, Dr. John Kotler; her niece, Ellen Kotler; her great-niece, Katie Kotler; and her great-nephew, Matthew Kotler.

Nothing brought Bobbie greater happiness than her family. She embraced every stage of family life with enthusiasm, and when her first grandson, Andrew, was born, she proudly wore a giant button that simply read "New Grandma." It perfectly captured the joy she felt in becoming a grandmother. She delighted in watching Andrew and Adam grow into the remarkable young men they are today and took immense pride in their accomplishments.

Bobbie found great joy in life's simple pleasures and in sharing them with those she loved. She was an exceptional cook whose meals brought family and friends together around her table. One of her family's favorite stories began when she misplaced her wedding ring shortly after it had been beautifully reset. Frantic to find it, she searched everywhere before realizing she had been making several homemade lasagnas that day—one destined for dinner and others for the freezer. Determined not to ruin either the ring or the lasagnas, she carefully poked through each one until she found the missing ring. Delighted that she had rescued both her treasured ring and her homemade meals, the story became a family favorite and perfectly reflected Bobbie's love of cooking, her resourcefulness, and her wonderful sense of humor.

She and Don loved to travel, especially on cruises, with family and close friends, creating treasured memories along the way. She was devoted to her dogs throughout her life, including her Airedales and Cocker Spaniel whose companionship brought her endless joy. An avid reader of historical fiction, she was always eager to discover a new story. She was a loyal Los Angeles Dodgers fan and rarely missed the chance to cheer for her favorite player, Mookie Betts.

Those who knew Bobbie will remember her as thoughtful, funny, and deeply compassionate. She felt life's joys and sorrows deeply and gave of herself generously to the people she loved. Her warmth, intelligence, kindness, and sense of humor enriched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. More than any accomplishment, Bobbie measured her life by the love of her family and friends, and that love remains her enduring legacy.
