Ruth Diane Kisner (86), passed peacefully at her home in Rancho Palos Verdes on December 16, 2025.
She was born in the Bronx, New York on January 26, 1939 to Emil and Ella Nadasdi, and grew up in Cliffside Park, New Jersey. She earned an Associates Degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology before moving to Los Angeles where she lived the rest of her life.
Ruth was a dedicated wife and mother who always had side businesses, including working with dear friends to found both the Palos Verdes Food Co-op and Fanciful Flowers, a floral design business. She enjoyed world travel, gardening, theater, sewing, exercise, and spending every possible moment with her grandchildren. She was active in her synagogue, Congregation Ner Tamid, and volunteered both as a Court Appointed Special Advocate and as a newborn photographer at Torrance Memorial Hospital.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Don; children: Robyn Ross (Michael Nadlman), Jeremy Kisner (Angela), Aaron Kisner (Susannah Wellford); and grandchildren: Dylan, Arielle, Ryan, Chloe, Gracie, Maya, Bea, and James.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Norman Nadasdi.
Ruth exhibited a rare combination of honesty and empathy and could always be counted on to show up whenever and wherever she was needed. Her direct and caring guidance will be missed by all who knew her.
