Dino Madrid Obituary

Antonio Ramon Madrid, known to all of us as Dino, was born January 1, 1966, at Northridge Hospital to Corine and Orlando Madrid. He grew up in Santa Clarita, spending his childhood in Valencia and Newhall, attending nearly every elementary school in the Newhall School District before moving on to Placerita Junior High and Hart High School.

After high school, Dino attended California State University, Northridge, where he majored in English and explored a wide range of subjects. He took so many classes that he earned enough credits for multiple degrees, but never officially graduated. He wasn’t focused on the diploma—he simply loved learning and following his interests wherever they led him.q

He worked for many years at Magic Mountain in Food Service, where he made lifelong friends and collected countless stories.

He and Sheri dated for seven years before marrying on August 21, 1999. They welcomed Alex to the world on May 2, 2001.

He enjoyed traveling traveling to Hawaii, the many cruise adventures they experienced through Sheri's career at Princess, his and Sheri's annual trip to Laughlin, and family trips to Ventura.

His passions were stereo equipment and cars—collecting both in a way that others might collect stamps.

A man who could fix anything, he was the one everyone called when they needed help—whether it was hanging a TV, replacing a faucet, or catching a stray cricket.

His father, Orlando, was not only his dad but his best friend, even standing as his best man at his wedding. That same deep friendship carried on with his son, Alex. The two bonded over music and became inseparable, even working together at APS Water for the past two years.

After dedicating over 30 years to APS Water, he took over as company owner on January 1.

He was the heart of his family, the handyman, the gardener, and the one who made life fun and full of adventure. His presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
